Project Engineer (Miami and West Palm Beach Offices)

CMA has employment opportunities for a Project Engineer (5-10 years of experience) in our civil engineering department in the Miami and West Palm Beach Offices.  Candidates should be able to efficiently plan and organize his or her workload with their team, demonstrate success working with a team of professionals, a commitment to quality, good communication skills, and a positive work ethic.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include various aspects of civil engineering design, plan preparation, permitting efforts, scheduling project activities, and construction oversight while leading complete project design teams.
  • Experience should include utility coordination; site grading; pavement analysis, water distribution system; sanitary sewer collection system; lift station design; stormwater management system and drainage analysis; roadway design; maintenance of traffic and phasing; pavement marking; signage; and erosion control.
  • The role requires preparation of project scopes, budgets, and schedules. It also includes reviewing and approving meeting agendas, minutes, and estimates of probable costs.
  • The role includes overseeing the permitting processes, coordinating with all agencies and responding to comments and requests for information.
  • Responsibilities include integrating the internal quality control process on all contract documents for compliance with industry and engineering standards.
  • Project outlines, project initiation, project schedules, project executions, and project closeout.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of project engagements including clients and project teams.
  • Successfully interface with multi-disciplinary design teams.
  • Achieve project objectives including quality/scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Mentor engineering staff.
  • Assist in marketing business opportunities with key clients and development of responses to RFPs/RFQs.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; a Master’s Degree is a plus, but not required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience is preferred. Less experienced candidates shall be considered.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Strong client relationship skills

  • Strong sense of urgency, project responsibility and initiative
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Engineer and Associate Engineer (Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach Offices)

CMA has employment opportunities for an Engineer (0-2 years of experience) and/or an Associate Engineer (2-5 years of experience) in our civil engineering department in the Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach Offices.  Candidates should be able to efficiently plan and organize his or her workload with their team, demonstrate success working with a team of professionals, a commitment to quality, good communication skills, and a positive work ethic.

Responsibilities:

  • Candidate shall work on various aspects of civil engineering design, plan preparation, permitting and construction oversight while working in a project team environment.
  • Candidate would contribute to projects including collecting existing utility data; performing modeling and simulation; site grading; water distribution system; sanitary sewer collection system; drainage analysis; roadway alignment; pavement marking; signage; and erosion control.
  • Prepare project design drawings within MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Develop project specific detail drawings.
  • Calculate project construction quantity estimates.
  • Assist with technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, schedules, and other related tasks.
  • Learn and adhere to client-specific standards.
  • Coordinate with team members and client representatives.
  • Periodic travel to project sites for field investigation and or construction support.
  • Project outlines, project initiation, project schedules, project executions, and project closeout.
  • Interface with multi-disciplinary design teams.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; a Master’s Degree is a plus, but not required
  • Engineer-In-Training (EI) designation is preferred. The expectation is that such candidate would be working towards becoming a Professional Engineer (P.E.)

Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager (West Palm Beach)

CMA has employment opportunities for a senior civil engineering project manager in the West Palm Beach Office. The target experience level is eight (8) to 15 (15) years of experience, but candidates will be considered with less experience who have a professional engineering license in the state of Florida. The candidate would focus on water and wastewater utility projects, but may have involvement in a variety of infrastructure projects for both public and private clients.
