Tijerino and Kaimrajh Joined Together With ASCE and Town of Miami Lakes in Community Clean
CMA staff members Carlos Tijerino and Patrick Kaimrajh participated with Miami-Dade ASCE in a Community Clean with the Town of Miami Lakes. Volunteers teamed to help residents especially in need of assistance to clean Hurricane Irma-related debris, including down fences, tree limbs, and leaves. ASCE members were joined by Town Council members Luis Collazo and Marilyn Ruano.

Dr. Ben Chen, P.E., BCEE, Named ASCE Broward Engineer of The Year
Congratulations to our Chairman of the Board Dr. Ben Chen, P.E., BCEE, who was honored with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Broward Engineer of the Year Award at the annual awards and installation banquet. Associate Engineers Jessica Diaz, EI and Teresa Lewis, EI were installed as bowl-a-thon chairpersons and Teresa Lewis was also installed as social media chairperson. CMA Vice President Jose L. Acosta, P.E., spoke during the presentation. CMA was a platinum sponsor of the annual meeting, held at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, where new ASCE Broward Officers are inducted as well as certain ASCE members within the County are recognized for excellence in engineering through a variety of awards. CMA employees Jessica Diaz, EI, Brent Whitfield, P.E and Suzanne Dombrowski, P.E., ENV SP attended the ESSIE (Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment) Evening with Industry Event. The annual event, held at The University of Florida, provides the opportunity to meet and interview students interested in engineering and for students to interact directly with top industry leaders and learn more about specific career opportunities and internships in civil, coastal and environmental engineering. CMA staff Joel Brownsey (driver), Teresa Lewis and Suzanne Dombrowski participated in The 14 Hours of Sebring last month with the CMA supported Porsche 944 race car. CMA Attended Tour for the West Palm Beach Brightline Station
CMA staff attended a tour of the All Aboard Florida Brightline West Palm Beach Station and TOD on September 14. Moss & Associates gave the tour through the ASCE Palm Beach County Chapter. CMA provided civil engineering services for the proposed station and TOD projects. The tour included a visit to the new WPB Brightline Station and a visit to the 20th floor of the new TOD building which includes parking area, residences and commercial area.

CMA Attended Topping Out Event for the West Palm Beach Brightline Station
CMA staff Jose L. Acosta, P.E., F.ASCE, Patrick Kaimrajh, P.E. and Michael Wood attended the Topping Out Event for the Brightline West Palm Beach Station. Chen Moore and Associates provided utility coordination, site plan coordination, civil engineering design, and the design of paving, grading, and drainage, water and sewer mains and services, pavement markings and signage and construction administration. This project is one Inline Station that proposes passenger rail service from Miami to Orlando.
