CMA President Peter Moore, P.E., LEED AP. F.ASCE, was recently elected Region 5 Director for ASCE until 2020. In this role, he will communicate between ASCEﾒs region 5, which represents Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and Puerto Rico and the board of direction. Peter will also recommend region governors to serve on board and society committees and plan, organize, direct, manage, and carry out events to engage and serve members in the region. CMA Participates in Beach Cleanup

CMA held its first beach cleanup event of the year by joining Sea Angels at the Boynton Beach Inlet on May 27. Reggie Adams (Reggie’s daughter Amia), Teresa Chapman, Daniel Davila, P.E., Suzanne Dombrowski, P.E. (Suzanneﾒs son Colin), Paula Fonseca, P.E. (Paulaﾒs father Humberto) and Jennifer Kelton (Jennifer’s sister Sarah) attended. The Sea Angels are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit environmental conservation organization located in Palm Beach County, Florida. They have been providing education, awareness and cleanups since 2005. Wilton Manors 26th Annual Island City Canoe Race

Chen Moore team members Joel Brownsey, EI (team leader), Danny Davila, P.E., Dan Dombrowski, P.E., Patrick Kaimrajh, P.E., Teresa Lewis, EI, Natalie Mecklenburg, Karen Rachles, Daniel Ruiz, Carols Tijerino and Mike Wood participated in the 26th Annual Island City Canoe Race in Wilton Manors on May 20. Teams competed in a 7-mile relay race around the City, with exchange points along the Middle River. The race started at Colohatchee Boat Ramp and finished at Richardson Historic Park where participants were greeted with lunch and a trophy ceremony. The CMA team received a certificate for finishing the event. This year marks the 70th Anniversary of the City of Wilton Manors. Our Director of Water Resources and Senior Engineer Brent Whitfield, P.E., was nominated for the Leadership Excellence Award by Leadership Palm Beach County. The nominees breakfast was held on May 19 at the Dignity Memorial Funeral Home in North Palm Beach.
The Leadership Excellence Award was created to celebrate those alumni who reflect Leadership Palm Beach Countyﾒs core values of connecting, collaborating, and change; individuals who have made a notable contribution to improve and impact our community.
