CMA’s Miami office visited the Rinker Materials Lab on May 25, where they had the opportunity to learn about concrete pipes and how they are manufactured and tested to set standards.

CMA Director of Planning Nilsa Zacarias, AICP will present on “Inclusive and Equitable Public Open Spaces: Lessons Learned from Village of Tequesta and Town of Jupiter“ at the Florida Planning Conference (FPC23). The event, occurring September 5-8, will be held at the Hyatt Regency Riverfront in downtown Jacksonville. The CMA Annual North Florida Family Picnic Enjoyed by All
The CMA Annual North Florida Family Picnic was held on Saturday, May 6 at Ginnie Springs in High Springs with a ‘western’ theme. Approximately 40 employees, friends and families enjoyed the day with a BBQ lunch, cake, volleyball, and swimming/tubbing down the river. Some CMAers even camped out at the springs! Thank you to our Marketing Coordinator Stephanie Williams for the t-shirt design worn by all staff and to the social activities committee for planning the event! We can’t wait until next year!
Team CMA Participated in 30th Annual Island City Canoe Race
CMA participated in the 30th Annual Island City Canoe Race, which consists of a 6-mile relay race around the City of Wilton Manors on Saturday, May 20. Participants included Dominique Bethel, Jessica Diaz, Dante DiTommaso, Suzanne Dombrowski, (Dan Dombrowski), Charmaine Emanuels, Sara Hollenbeck, Vince Locigno, Justin Tagle, Brian Voelker, and Jason McClair. CMA Staff Participated in FES Miami Golf Tournament
CMA staff members Patrick Kaimrajh, P.E., Greg Mendez, P.E. and Jason McClair, P.E., CFM, LEED AP participated in the FES Miami Golf Tournament on May 19. They golfed with Sam Zamacona, the Deputy Director of the City of North Miami Beach’s Water Department. The event was held at Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne.

Yulet Miguel, P.E. attended WTS South Florida’s informative and interactive Lunch & Learn on Sustainable Mobility at the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) offices. Speaker Ms. Candace Gomez-Cluck attended to discuss her role in shaping the future of sustainable mobility through Movin’On.
CMA Staff Participated in Birdies for Birch Golf Tournament
CMA staff members Jose L. Acosta, P,E., F.ASCE, Gregory Mendez, P.E., and Jason McClair, P.E., CFM, LEED AP participated in the Birdies for Birch golf tournament on May 15 at Fort Lauderdale Country Club. Proceeds from the golf tournament are used for preserving, conserving, enhancing, and promoting Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, which includes 180 acres of pristine natural habitat on Fort Lauderdale Beach.

On May 11, CMA Vice President of Electrical Engineering Thomas Gardner, P.E. helped Beaches Energy Services test and commission four new 27 KV feeder breakers and relays.
