What an amazing day at the FES awards luncheon! Congratulations to our President Peter Moore, P.E., F.ASCE, FACEC, F.FES on receiving the prestigious President’s Award for his outstanding service to the industry. And a huge shoutout to our EVP Jose L. Acosta, P.E., F.ASCE for being named Engineer of the Year. We are also thrilled to announce that our Principal Engineer Freeman Bass, P.E. has graduated from this year’s FELI program. All of these remarkable achievements were celebrated at the 2024 FES ACEC Florida Annual Conference at the JW Marriott Turnberry in Miami. Congratulations to our deserving winners!

CMA Staff Presented at the FES ACEC Florida Annual Conference

CMA was well represented at the 2024 FES ACEC Florida Annual Conference at the JW Marriott, Turnberry in Miami. Principal Engineer Brent Whitfield, P.E., ENV SP and Senior Engineer Laura Vogel, PhD, P.E., ENV SP presented on their work for the South Florida Water Management District on the Flood Protection Level of Service program modeling sea level rise in Central and Northern Miami Dade County. Brent also served as a panelist for a thoughtful discussion on Statewide Water Policy with Senator Jennifer Bradley and Senator Jonathan Martin. Congrats!

CMA Staff Installed as Officers at the FES ACEC Florida Annual Conference

CMA just had two of our team members installed as officers on the ACEC of Florida Board of Directors at their annual conference at the JW Marriott, Turnberry in Miami! Our Principal Engineer Shahin Hekmat, P.E., F.FES, FACEC was recently named the National Director of ACEC. He was also recognized as the recipient of the President’s Award and an award for being a member of the ACEC College of Fellows. Our Principal Engineer J.W. Hunter, P.E., F.FES was named Transportation Director. Congratulations!

Rob Best, P.E. Installed as ASCE Florida Section President at Annual Conference

BIG NEWS from the ASCE Florida Section conference in Bonita Springs! Our very own Principal Engineer Rob Best, P.E. was installed as ASCE Florida Section President. Plus, our Associate Engineer Madeline Batey, P.E. received the President’s award along with the rest of the student symposium planning committee for their efforts with planning the conference. And let’s not forget about the University of Miami winning the Kathy Caldwell Student Chapter of the Year Award. Grace Pugliese, our intern, is their Student Chapter President and accepted the award on behalf of the chapter. Rob Best with our Principal Engineer Safiya Brea, P.E. also presented on Septic to Sewer in the Utility Track. Congratulations to our entire team for making this conference week one for the books!
