CMA Staff Attend ACEC Annual National Convention and Legislative Forum
CMA President Peter Moore, P.E., F.ASCE, FACEC and Director of Quality Assurance Shahin Hekmat, P.E., F.FES attended the ACEC Annual National Convention and Legislative Summit in Washington DC June 11-14. During the Capitol Hills visits, the ACEC Florida attendees met with Senior Senator Marco Rubio; Congresswoman Kathy Castor (District 14); Congressman Vern Buchanan (District 16); Congressman Brian Mast (District 21); Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (District 26); Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar (District 27); and Congressman Carlos Giménez (District 28). Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to listen to several great speakers including U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg; Magician, Motivational Speaker and Former NFL Player Jon Dorenbos; president of the World Economic Forum Børge Brende; renowned economist, financial expert and former CNBC Chief Economist and Co-Host of Squawk Box Dr. Marci Rossell; former Governor of New Jersey, senior legal and political commentator for ABC News, and 2024 presidential candidate Chris Christie; and Mike DelGuidice and his band, Big Shot. Many attendees also attended education sessions on recruitment and retention, how AI + big data will transform the AEC industry, and implementing a framework for digital delivery nationally.

CMA Rinker Lab Visit in Miami
CMA’s Miami office visited the Rinker Materials Lab on May 25, where they had the opportunity to learn about concrete pipes and how they are manufactured and tested to set standards.

The CMA Annual North Florida Family Picnic Enjoyed by All
The CMA Annual North Florida Family Picnic was held on Saturday, May 6 at Ginnie Springs in High Springs with a ‘western’ theme. Approximately 40 employees, friends and families enjoyed the day with a BBQ lunch, cake, volleyball, and swimming/tubbing down the river. Some CMAers even camped out at the springs! Thank you to our Marketing Coordinator Stephanie Williams for the t-shirt design worn by all staff and to the social activities committee for planning the event! We can’t wait until next year!
Team CMA Participated in 30th Annual Island City Canoe Race
CMA participated in the 30th Annual Island City Canoe Race, which consists of a 6-mile relay race around the City of Wilton Manors on Saturday, May 20. Participants included Dominique Bethel, Jessica Diaz, Dante DiTommaso, Suzanne Dombrowski, (Dan Dombrowski), Charmaine Emanuels, Sara Hollenbeck, Vince Locigno, Justin Tagle, Brian Voelker, and Jason McClair. CMA Staff Participated in FES Miami Golf Tournament
CMA staff members Patrick Kaimrajh, P.E., Greg Mendez, P.E. and Jason McClair, P.E., CFM, LEED AP participated in the FES Miami Golf Tournament on May 19. They golfed with Sam Zamacona, the Deputy Director of the City of North Miami Beach’s Water Department. The event was held at Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne.
