CMA staff members attended the FES Shrimp Boil on October 21 at the Palm Beach Shores Community Center. CMA was a sponsor for the event, and proceeds went to the scholarship fund. Attendees were David Cowan, Diego Li, Nick Musick, and Suzanne Dombrowski and family.

CMA Staff Attend ASCE YMG Jazz It Up Event
CMA Principal Engineer Patrick Kaimrajh, P.E. and Senior Engineer Nick Karpathy, P.E. attended the ASCE YMG Jazz it Up event October 20 at The Anderson in Miami. Nick also took the stage for a saxophone performance!

ASCE FL Section Dinner Hosted by CMA
CMA hosted the ASCE FL Section dinner on the rooftop deck of CMA’s Miami office on October 21. Special thanks to Patrick Kaimrajh and Jessica Cifuentes for coordinating the event! Attendees included leaders from around the state. The quarterly board meeting is held the next day at the University of Miami. Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Held for Oakland Park Splash Pad Project
CMA staff attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Oakland Park Phase I of City Park on October 21. CMA was the prime consultant for civil engineering and landscape architecture and had PGAL, MUEngineering, and Hammond and Associates on the team for architecture, structural engineering, and MEP engineering. The $5.9 million project, constructed by Kaufman Lynn, includes pickleball courts, basketball courts, an accessible playground, a renovated concession stand building, family restroom building, and a splash pad. City Park is the first project in the Comprehensive Facilities Plan for Oakland Park’s Second Century.

Jose L. Acosta Receives Award at CAACE Annual Gala
CMA staff members Jose L. Acosta, P.E., F.ASCE, Shahin Hekmat, P.E., Patrick Kaimrajh, P.E. and Laura Vogel, Ph.D, P.E., ENV SP, attended the CAACE Gala on October 22. Jose was awarded the Plinio Villanueva Award! Jose previously received this award in 2017. The Plinio Villanueva Award is given to a member of CAACE who has made a commitment, through their actions and efforts, to advance the Civil Engineering Profession and the organization. https://c-aace.org/

CMA Receives Workforce Development Award
On behalf of CMA, our President Peter Moore, P.E., F.ASCE, FACEC accepted the Workforce Development Award from the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce at their annual gala last night. The event was held at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Coral Springs and proceeds will benefit their Education Foundation.
