Our CMA staff recently had the opportunity to attend the 55th Florida Airports Council Annual Conference & Exposition in Aventura! We learned about the exciting growth of the aviation market in Florida, the future of Federal funding, and General Aviation practices.
CMA had a blast on Thursday night at the NUCA of South Florida charity event at Game of Axes! Not only did we support the amazing cause of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, but one of our team members even made it to the playoffs!

What a strike! Our very own Jason McClair showed off his bowling skills and snagged third place at the ASCE Broward Branch Bowl-A-Thon at SpareZ in Davie. But that’s not all – the event was a huge success, helping us raise over $3,000 for student scholarships! Thank you to everyone who participated and supported this great cause. CMA recently hosted the UF STEPUP Engineering Group, a team of 52 first year engineering students who pulled up to the CMA office in a big Gator Bus! The day was filled with valuable industry insights, office tours, and even a visit to the Prospect Lakes Water Main Project. Plus, on July 31 our Principal Engineer Safiya Brea went to UF and spoke at the UF STEPUP Women in Engineering Luncheon where she shared her inspiring journey as a woman in engineering. It’s all part of our commitment to supporting the next generation of engineers.

Our recent CMA Annual Leadership Retreat at the Fort Lauderdale office was a huge success! Over the course of two days, our talented managers and directors came together to dive deep into topics like contract management and team effectiveness. What an amazing day at the FES awards luncheon! Congratulations to our President Peter Moore, P.E., F.ASCE, FACEC, F.FES on receiving the prestigious President’s Award for his outstanding service to the industry. And a huge shoutout to our EVP Jose L. Acosta, P.E., F.ASCE for being named Engineer of the Year. We are also thrilled to announce that our Principal Engineer Freeman Bass, P.E. has graduated from this year’s FELI program. All of these remarkable achievements were celebrated at the 2024 FES ACEC Florida Annual Conference at the JW Marriott Turnberry in Miami. Congratulations to our deserving winners!
