CMA staff bowled on two teams as platinum and silver sponsors The event is held annually to raise money for a scholarship provided to Broward County residents who are either a senior in high school or an undergraduate student in college pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. On August 1, CMA’s Fort Lauderdale office volunteered for a Shared Meal event hosted by HOPE South Florida. Volunteers were responsible for setting up, serving and cleaning up meals for homeless individuals. CMA Director of Planning and Landscape Architecture Cris Betancourt, RLA recently graduated from the Florida Engineering Leadership Institute (FELI). FELI was created with the mission to transition engineering professionals into community professionals and leaders within our societies, communities, and workplaces. Through its initial 10-month class, FELI enhances the leadership skills of its participants and sets out a clear pathway to put these skills into practice serving our profession and our communities. CMA hosted an event at TopGolf Miami on July 26. CMA received the Engineering Excellence Honor Award from The American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida (ACEC-FL). The Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA) acknowledges Florida engineering firms for their ground-breaking applications and intricate projects. CMA President Peter Moore, P.E., F.ASCE, ENV SP, LEED AP and Senior Engineer and Project Manager Daniel Davila, P.E. accepted the award for the “Go Big, Go Fast Infrastructure Improvement Program- 30” Force Main Repair” project for the City of Fort Lauderdale. CMA served as a subconsultant to Murphy Pipeline Contractors. The awards event was held last week at the FES/ACEC-FL Annual Conference Banquet at the Vinoy® Renaissance in St. Petersburg. CMA Staff Receive Awards at ASCE Florida Section Annual Conference

Congratulations to Chen Moore and Associates Jennifer Smith, P.E., Senior Engineer for winning the ASCE Young Engineer of the Year award and Brent Whitfield, P.E., ENV SP, Director of Water Resources/Senior Engineer for winning the ASCE Region 5 Engineer of the Year award at the ASCE Florida Section Annual Conference today at the Orlando World Center Marriott. Brent was also installed as ASCE District 1 Vice President.
