Our Annual Family Picnic was held on Saturday, September 10th at Spanish River Park in Boca Raton. Festivities included a BBQ lunch, ball and water balloon toss and a hula hoop contest. Prizes for gift cards were awarded to our contest winners. Congratulations to Whitney Tidd for winning the t-shirt design contest! Everyone received a t-shirt. Approximately 60 people enjoyed the day including employees, friends and families.

The event was held at the FAU Stadium Delray Acura Club on the FAU Boca Raton campus where 15 years of educational excellence and alumni successes were celebrated. Congratulations to Patrick Kaimrajh, P.E., Senior Engineer, who was installed as President of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Miami-Dade Branch on August 25 at the officer installation and awards banquet. Patrick previously held the position of President-elect. CMA was a gold sponsor of the annual meeting, held at the Rusty Pelican in Key Biscayne, where new ASCE Miami-Dade Officers are inducted as well as certain ASCE members within the County are recognized for excellence in engineering through a variety of awards. Vice President Jose Acosta, P.E. of CMA presented the 2016 Report Card for Floridaメs Infrastructure as ASCE Florida Section President. FIU Biscayne Bay Campus Housing Grand Opening

Cristobal Betancourt, RLA, Patrick Kaimrajh, P.E., Stefan Bortak, CID, Whitney Tidd and Jose Acosta, P.E. recently attended the grand opening of the FIU Biscayne Bay Campus Student Housing facility. CMA served as a subconsultant to PGAL for the design, permitting and construction administration of the new 595-bed student dormitory. Our responsibilities included providing all site services for the project such as survey, geotechnical, civil and landscape services. The site program includes a resort style swimming pool with hammocks, barbecue areas, outdoor seating, and cabana, bicycle parking facilities, pedestrian pathways, site seating and a 300-space parking facility. CMA applied its experience with Low Impact Development (LID) techniques to provide site design in the highly constrained site. The project was designed to a LEED silver standard.

The 28th Annual American Society of Civil Engineers Broward Branch Bowl-A-Thon was held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 in Tamarac at Sawgrass Lanes. CMA team members included Joel Brownsey, E.I.; Jason McClair, P.E., CFM, LEEDᆴ AP; Peter Moore, P.E., LEEDᆴ; Derrick Smith, LEEDᆴ AP; Jennifer Smith, P.E.; Kathy Horrigan; Jose Acosta, P.E.; Michael Wood; Greg Mendez, P.E.; and Dr. Ben Chen, P.E., BCEE. The event is held on an annual basis to raise money for a scholarship provided to a Broward County resident pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering.
