CMA has worked with public, semi-public and private clients to provide a wide range of water and sanitary sewer engineering services including large scale master planning and modeling, existing system assessments, design and rehabilitation from the level of a basis of design report through design, permitting and construction administration services. CMA has also undertaken and completed several international water and wastewater projects in the Caribbean and in Central America. CMA is among the most diverse and experienced firms with utility engineering projects in Florida.
Master Planning & Hydraulic Modeling
CMA has been assisting clients for over three (3) decades in the planning and development of their infrastructure needs. Our team has substantial experience in hydraulic modeling and have been able to help our clients with the planning, expansion, and maintenance of their utilities and infrastructure. CMA specializes in utility analysis and assessment for water and sewer infrastructure which can include the following:
- Water and sewer master planning
- Lift station modeling and analysis
- Pressure pipe analysis (distribution and transmission networks)
- Gravity sewer hydraulic modeling
- Demand studies
- Flow monitoring and Infiltration and Inflow (I&I) studies
- System optimization
- Water quality analysis
Our team uses the latest hydraulic software and integrates the model with Geographic Information System (GIS) to create a realistic and comprehensive analysis of utility infrastructure networks. Our expertise provides sustainable solutions that help our clients achieve their goals.
Water, Wastewater & Pump Stations
Since 1986, CMA has been assisting clients with their water and wastewater infrastructure needs. Our experience ranges from small water main replacement or lift station renovation to large-scale neighborhood improvements. Our team has completed numerous water and sewer projects encompassing hundreds of miles of infrastructure improvements. Our expertise includes design and analysis of potable water distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection and transmission systems, infrastructure master planning, utility and condition assessment, and rehabilitation of existing utilities. In addition, CMA has designed hundreds of lift station for various clients and municipalities ranging from small grinder pumps, low pressure systems to master regional lift stations. In response to the growing challenge and need to protect springs and environmentally sensitive waterbodies, CMA has designed the conversion of thousands of septic systems to sewer throughout the State and is familiar with the regulatory requirements (both at the State level and local Health Department level), the different collection system options and how each could best be used. CMA’s experience also includes international projects in Panama, Dominican Republic, Peru, Saudi Arabia and Trinidad.
Reclaimed Water Supply
CMA has completed dozens of reclaimed water projects including routing study, design, permitting, and construction administration of distribution systems and large-diameter transmission lines. Our experience includes implementation of reclaimed systems for irrigation of neighborhoods, recreational areas and commercial developments. Our team can provide water use demand studies and hydraulic modeling services. CMA has also led the design of booster pump stations (including package skids) to address available pressure and flow needs identified out of these studies and models.
Raw Water Supply
Public health, sustainability and an operational infrastructure is essential for the growth of any community. The CMA team can assist clients with assessments and evaluation of potable water supply systems. Our experience and services include:
- Design, permitting and construction administration of raw water pump stations
- Raw water transmission line design and rehabilitation
- Wellfield siting analysis
- Well performance evaluation
- Water quality studies
- Pump performance evaluation
- Well protection plans
Trenchless Technologies Solutions
The CMA team has been involved in trenchless technologies for over two decades, having completed award-winning projects in Florida. Our expertise includes various techniques for installation of new pipe and rehabilitation of existing utilities. Our services include design, permitting and construction administration of:
- Compression fit High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) lining
- Horizontal Direction Drilling (HDD)
- Pre-chlorinated Pipe Bursting (pressure pipe)
- Pipe Bursting for gravity lines (sanitary sewer & drainage)
- Slip lining
- Cured in Place Pipe Lining (CIPP)
- Jack and Bore
Our experience includes compression fit HDPE lining (swagelining) of large diameter transmission lines, pipe bursting of gravity sewer and potable water systems, and complex subaqueous HDD projects across the intracoastal. Our HDD expertise includes Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), Ductile Iron (DIP), and High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipes up to 48” in diameter. CMA has designed drills throughout Florida, in Panama and the Dominican Republic.
Water & Wastewater Plant Yard Piping
CMA combines its expertise of land development, planning and utility to deliver complex projects that require design, permitting and construction administration of “inside-the-fence” yard piping projects. CMA has completed complex pipe and valve arrangements for storage tank expansions, wastewater treatment plant and potable water plant expansions projects. Our experience includes pipe of up to 72-inches in diameter, valving, backflow prevention, metering, access, site planning and master planning of facilities. Along with the utility infrastructure, CMA can provide site development needs such as site planning, development review (DRC) services and stormwater management solutions.
Engineering Analysis & Assessments
CMA has been providing consulting services to assist our clients in the evaluation, assessment, and analysis of their utilities to help grow, expand and maintain their infrastructure in a safe and efficient way. Our team can provide a variety of services including:
- Basis of Design Reports (BODR)
